Second Request and Warning for Green Lane

Topic created by Orienteeringmom on Fri Jul 23, 2010 at 8:09 pmFirst I want to thank the people who have already contacted me to help. I truly appreaciate it. But it is not near enough. I have 8 people to help me. Including myself and Denny a total of 10 people. Epunching is totally covered and I am very greatful for that as I know nothing at all about it. But not including Denny and I, I have one person to p/u controls , one person for starts and one person for registration. NOT enough. I will not allow the meet to start until I have at least two more people to cover starts. There are 3 starts and they are no where near each other. The brown start and the re-entry control for orange and the advance course is very important for safety reasons. It is to be extremely hot and before the orange and advance runners re-enter their courses, I want someone there to make sure that they are properly hydrated and ok to continue because the second half of the advance is longer than the first half and they will have just climbed the 1.3 trail back to the top of the hill. So early arrivals, for your safety and my peace of mind we will not start the meet until all of the volunteer positions are filled.
Come on people I don't think this is to much to ask. Bob Fink, Denny, who has go to work at 3:30 tomorrow until midnight and myself are spending time out in the heat tomorrow hanging the controls and get ready what we can for sunday and will be back in the park by 8:30AM sunday to finish getting ready. Have some respect for our efforts and support us by letting us know that you will volunteer an hour or so of your time to make this event successful and safe for us all.

We will start as soon as they arrive and I'm sure that all is ready to go and before 10AM we are ready. Also a big THANKS to Bev and Fred Hartline for volunteering for second shift on start and registration. I feel much better but I still need control p/u and help cleaning up but I'm sure that people will step up tomorrow for that.
