The weather will be seasonably warm and dry.  The terrain is clear and dry.  No snow anywhere except where snowplows created large piles.  Come on out and enjoy the woods before the next big snow.

The Batsto terrain is gradual contour changes, no boulders, sandy soil that drains well.  The vegetation varies from wide open woods to thick low blueberry bushes with scattered green briar.  Avoid dark green areas which are usually thicker areas of green briar. There are many trails some of which are actually fire breaks.  The map and vegetation are aging.

The Blue, Brown and Orange courses feature a mandatory crossing.  This crossing is the for a wooden fence that while not marked as impassable, we feel that damage may occur to the fence if our competitors climbed on it.  This mandatory crossing point is really at the ideal place to cross the fence anyway.  The White and Yellow courses have a water stop at a control.  All other courses have water available along the major North-South jeep trail.  The water stops will be marked on the map and occur near trail-jeep trail intersections.

Thanks to Bob Burg, all the controls have been placed in the woods and we are ready.

Looking forward to having an opportunity to run/walk on terrain NOT covered by snow! Thanks, Dan and Bob and Zac.
