Camping Options Memorial Day Weekend at Hickory Run

Topic created by Sandy on Fri Mar 15, 2013 at 9:01 pmDVOA has rented the Shehaqua Camp at Hickory Run for the Memorial Day weekend. For those of you that want to come for the weekend activities - relay on Saturday, Saturday Night-O, 3 or 6 hr. rogaine on Sunday - there will be space at the camp in the cabins. It is similar to Camp Daddy Allen (the camp we use for the training weekend every September). Details will be coming shortly.

Reply by Steve on Sat Mar 16, 2013 at 8:40 amMore Questions than answers. Will we be using the lodges or the cabins? How will we be working the kitchen schedules? Will cabins be first come first serve, or will someone try to organize things? Will there be an organized clean up detail?
As you all know, Fred has been carrying this load in the fall for fifteen years or so. He has given DVOA a very good reputation with the park. LET'S NOT SCREW IT UP! We have to do this right.
PS Sandy has done just as good a job at PEEC, so we should not rely on her just because she made the reservation.
BTW The simming pool may be open, which would add a whole new list of issues. -

There will be a fee for staying at the camp and someone will assign people to cabins. We are working out the details for how this will be handled.
If you are willingr to help with this, and in particular with making sure the camp is cleaned up on Monday, please let me know. Send me an email by clicking on my name (to the left). It would not preclude you from participating in any of the events.
