Topic created by Guy-O on Fri Jan 25, 2013 at 3:00 amThe US Junior Team Executive Steering Committee (JTESC) has officially launched the highly anticipated US Junior Development Team (JDT):
The JDT is a group made up of juniors, of all ability levels, who enjoy orienteering. Anyone under the age of 21 is welcome to join. The goal of the JDT is give all its members opportunities to learn more about orienteering, get more orienteering practice and training, to help the orienteering community at a local level, and to get to know other juniors all around the country.
JDT members will be connected with coaches, mentors and other juniors in their local area. Team members choose their own goals, such as taking their orienteering skills to the next level, helping their local club, or bringing more friends to events.
Orienteering USA (OUSA) is committed to supporting juniors in reaching their goals. In return we ask that JDT members also be OUSA members. If you are not already a member, please go to http://orienteeringusa.org/membership and join as a Student (not “Junior”) member.
Please feel free to contact the Junior Team Administrator, Barb Bryant (junior_admin [at] orienteeringusa.org), Coach Erin Schirm (emschirm [at] syr.edu), or Steering Committee Chair Guy Olsen (guypolsen [at] aol.com), at any time with questions.
