NAOC 2012 - Registration Deadlines Approaching
-
Topic created by Sandy on Thu Sep 13, 2012 at 10:39 amRegistrations for the North American Orienteering Championships are closing in on the 500 mark, the banquet has sold out, the Friday dinner is almost sold out and the t-shirt order has been placed.
If you're planning to register, now is the time! Fees go up on October 1 and registration from October 1 to October 8 is on-line only with full on-line payment required at the time of registration. No registrations will be accepted after October 8.
There are a handful of folks who have registered but not paid; if you have not paid by October 1, we will assume you have decided not to attend and will cancel your registration. To check your status, see the list of registered orienteers. If there is not a check in the Confirmed column, it means we do not have payment. Contact the Registrar - see the NAOC website for contact information - if you think there is an error.

Reply by Guy-O on Fri Sep 14, 2012 at 3:37 amHey (fellow) DVOAers!
It's a BIG O-World out there, and this is a rare opportunity to get a taste of it close to home. As far as I know, there will not be "walk-in", recreational courses available, [EDIT: As per Sandy, recreational White will be available] so you must pre-register (use the "NAOC website" link above) -- even for just Yellow or Orange.
This promises to be a world-class orienteering event, so even if you can only get there for one day, you O it to yourself to do so! -
Reply by Sandy on Fri Sep 14, 2012 at 8:13 amThere will be the opportunity for beginners to do a recreational course without pre-registration - but only the white course. It is on the NAOC website registration page - scroll down a ways and there's a short blurb on recreational courses. The final bulletin - which will be posted about a week before the event - will give the registration and start windows since they will not be the typical ones for DVOA events.
