The French Creek Score-o is now loaded in RouteGadget: http://www.dvoa.org/cgi/gadget/reitti.cgi?act=map&id=162&kieli=
To view the controls (and the order) that a particular person did, click on the person's name (after choosing Score-o in the dropdown list) then click on view routes. There are many different route choices that folks made.
Thanks to Fred and everyone else who put on the event. I'm finally beginning to feel that I can reasonably navigate at French Creek (and even identify charcoal platforms

Reply by furlong47 on Mon Jun 6, 2011 at 7:23 pmI took a few photos during the event using my old, small camera (don't expect my usual level of artistry!)
This is a facebook link but you shouldn't need an account to view it. If you do have one feel free to tag yourself in photos.

Reply by FredR on Mon Jun 6, 2011 at 10:16 pmThanks to everyone that came out and participated and helped out. The weather was nearly perfect and there were no major hitches. As always, I'm indebted to the more organizationally adept among us to pull it off:
- Jim Puzo, first on the scene; and Dan Barker working registration;
- Vadim (getting those really far out controls), Doug Sevon, Pat Keim, Mike Carter, and Louis Mongin doing the really important, and particularly challenging job in this case, of control pickup.
- Ed Scott providing all sorts of help, equipment, advice and support;
- Sandy F. and Doug Sevon getting all the results and Routegadget cleaned up and posted speedily
Last but not least, I'd like to thank my not-quite-kids-anymore Sam and Bailey for all the help in making it a Reed family event: Bailey on learning the score-o software, setting it up and doing entry; and Sam for all the time in the woods hanging controls, picking them up, bagging maps, and other assorted duties.Hopefully, that covers it.Fred -
Reply by WindWalker on Mon Jun 6, 2011 at 10:31 pmIt was a fun day, although I will admit I was running out of steam towards the end. Alot more walk and alot less run.
Made some great finds and screwed up on a few. My pace counting is getting better and when I remember to use it it is most helpful.
I like the French Creek terrain, but I like the 1/10,000 map better. Some of the stuff was hard to see even with my magnifying glass.
Impressive showing by Vadim, looking at his route is very impressive.
Thanks for another great event.
See yall next week, Mike

Reply by KathleenG on Mon Jun 6, 2011 at 11:18 pmThanks for the great event. Loved the 3-hour format. Allowed the less-speedy time to think through tactics, attack tricky controls more than once, get some good practice on long legs, while not feeling stressfully rushed. Also evened the playing field a bit - the jackrabbits had to stay out there longer than their usual speedy outings, and work on endurance! I think this is the first score O I've noticed that no one in the the super-fast crowd found all the controls! Lots of strategic thinking going on!

Reply by edscott on Tue Jun 7, 2011 at 3:06 pmHad a great time but I was wiped out yesterday. Glad I didn't have anything I needed to do on Monday. Hope more people put their routes on Route Gadget. So far Ron has the prize for his 63-64 leg.
