    Happy holiday everyone.

A friend, living in Yardley, asked me to introduce her to orienteering and I thought Core Creek might be a close and nice location.

Does anyone know the condition of the course and if the park office has maps on hand? I was hoping to get an answer before Monday otherwise I would have waited to contact the park office.

I do have a couple of brown Tyler SP maps and that might work in place of the Core Creek permanent course.

    Thanks!

Doug- I'll suggest contacting the park directly. They mailed me maps a couple years ago. I'll let someone else comment on condition. I never actually was on it. Have fun !! Always good to hear introducing someone new.

If you can't get to a Core Creek permanent map, taking a walk using your Tyler map could work just as well. Start out identifying spots where White level controls would likely be placed and see how it goes. Perhaps move on to Yellow level after a mile or so and tack on an orange at the end.

    Erik,

Thank you. Yes it was nice to see her excited about the sport. She likes to run and has a passion for maps and wants to learn how to use a compass. When I showed her a couple of our maps it was like watching a child on Christmas morning!

    Ed,

Thank you. I will most likely go to Tyler or Washington Crossing with the maps I have.

If time allows I will stop by Core Creek and check on maps and course.
