The woods were a little wet today at Hickory Run but the forecast for tomorrow is mostly sunny with a high in the low 70's.

There will be a 3 hour option, in addition to the basic 2 hour time limit, for those in the 10:30 mass start.  Tell Erik Eddy at e-punch registration if you wish to do the longer version.  Three hours will not be an option for those starting at noon due to the need to get everything out of the woods.  The controls are spread over a wide area, and there will be few, if any, able to get to them all in 2 hours.

There are no facilities at the parking/registration area.  There are two truck stops about a mile away and the park office and various fast food joints about 4 miles away, in opposite directions.  Come prepared.

There will be a white/yellow course available: 2.2 km., 30 m climb.  This course will use pin punching.  It was designed recently because of the possibility of scout troops in the area but is open to all.

Remember: the map is 1:15,000, and over 25 years old, so things are farther away than the may seem, vegatation can be thicker than mapped and some of the few trails have become overgrown, particularly those further from the start/finish area.

You should try to be ready at least 10 minutes before the mass start so that last minute instructions, map distribution and the 2 minute pre-start map study can take place.
