Looking to get off-trail this weekend?    Look no further...

This Saturday, Hudson Valley Orienteering is hosting a local O-event at Loantaka Brook Reservation, near Morristown, NJ, with pre-marked maps and e-punching.

Courses: W Y O Br G R 

Special times:  Registration and starts will be from 10am until 12 noon; there will also be a 2-hour time limit, with all courses closing at 2pm.

If someone is looking for 2 days orienteering training then HVO event on Saturday is a good addition to the short courses we'll have on Sunday. It shold be worth of driving upnorth, nice area (I hope) and e-punching!

Guy, does HVO provide the same HVO members pricing for DVOA members?

Not officially, but since I'm ED, we'll make an exception on Saturday. 
$5 - adult ind / group;  $4 junior ind;  $10 family max (entries); extra maps $2 ea.

Full disclosure:  The terrain is basically flat -- 1(one) meter contours -- but there are some knolls and depressions, as well as many small marshes and stream-ditches.  Vegetation varies, but Nadya (Popova, CS) has tried to avoid thick areas.  The area is long N-S and narrow E-W;  scale is 1:7,500. The trail network is limited to 3 major trails:  two N-S, mostly close together; one E-W, right in the middle.  North lines are not parallel to the paper edge.

White -- 1.89km / 10c
Yellow -- 2.26km / 9c
Orange -- 2.60km / 12c
Green -- 3.50km / 14c
Red -- 4.62km / 15c

Climb is minimal on all courses (one meter contours!)

The Brown course was dropped as it was redundant.
