Particularly for those that went to French Creek East today (but other opinions are welcome)--what did you think about hanging a copy of your splits in the fashion of the old pink cards?  Was it worth the extra time (and paper)?

The benefit I see is everyone can compare splits and find out how they did at partucular legs right after finish. I found this very interesting. And having splits available can make one more reason for after race discussions.

It is better than waiting for someone to print out the results every half hour. Splits are an extra plus

In any sport the competitors want to know the results of their efforts as compared to others immediately following their performance. One is many times more likely to analyze, critique and discuss results with other  participants within the first 10 minutes or so after completion of the activity than if the results ( including point to point ) are not known for some longer period of time.
My opinion is over 50% of the reason to have splits is lost if one doesn't know the detailed results of the "competition" on the spot. I personally will seek out others to talk to if the splits are posted.
Hope to see this standard for all e-punch events.

I was asking primarily to see if this is something that should be the "standard" so that the laptops and printers should be configured this way by default.  Changing the number of copies printed is just complicated enough to be a pain, so it should be whatever the standard practice is.  There's also the possibility that the splits layout could be altered somewhat to work better with hanging and group viewing (vs personal use)--e.g., bigger fonts.

I definitely like the idea of hanging the splits immediately after our runs.  I recommend this become the "standard".  The idea of bigger font sounds good, but if it gets too big it might be difficult to fit all participants on the string.
