That depends upon the park and the park rules.  Most parks allow dogs and we have no problem with dogs.  You just need to follow the park rules as long as dogs are permitted.  A number of peopel bring their dogs with them.

Our database does not include information on the rules of specific parks, but in general PA State Parks allow dogs if on leash but not in always in the Family Camping areas nor in the Group Camp areas.  Some maps include State Gamelands which have special regulations. County park rules differ from county to county.  It would be best to check the websites of the properties on our schedule to be sure.  I know at least the northern part of our Green Lane map prohibits dogs.  Nature and environmental centers often prohibit dogs as do most, if not all, Scout Camps; but again there's no set pattern.. each venue will need to be researched.  Perhaps we can get a list of our "dog friendly" venues together over time and post it on our site.

I always enjoy seeing well-behaved club members like Rex and Demon at events.  I once found a beagle with a leash tangled up at a control.  I got him barking but then I left him there, figuring his owners were in the vicinity and would hear him and find him.  Unleashed dogs, however friendly, are scarey when they run up to you in the woods.

On the topic of Dogs, I really like to see them in the park to enjoy a walk with their master(s), and on the "dark  side" of this topic, have been bit - once superficially by a small nasty "unleased" family dog walking  with his family in a county park (while jogging).   On the latter note, if your dog is well behaved, great!  If overly excitable or uncontrollable arounnd stragers, leave them home or leash them/keep them at "Heel"  at all times.

Anyway, to answer the oginial question , Check park rules for all Dog Access.  Most city or town parks allow our four footed - doggy friends.  But, Most Scout camps I know have some "no dogs"  allowed - rules. Sadly, its because of past dog owner reluctance to clean up the common dog cookie (not an IT term), and Quail Hill Scout reservation, in NJ ... is an example of a DVOA map that does not allow dogs. But other sites allow them, Rutgers Preserve allows dogs on leash, as do many other county and state parks.
