I put a few events on Facebook for Green Lane and McKaig and the canoe-o and it seems to be a very inexpensive and effective way to reach people.  So if any event director wants a Facebook ad, ask Angelica or me to add an event for you and don't wait too late.  I suggest adding the event earlier and then FB asks you to boost your ad by sending it out to all our FB "likes" and their friends close to the event, which is a lot of advertising!

ps I think the Green Lane event worked because I looked at the results and saw almost every white and yellow orienteer was not a club member and their names were new to me.  There is a thread about this on Attackpoint.
pps If you are an Event Director who does not frequent Facebook, I can assure you that Quantico and Cascade and other clubs  use Facebook very effectively.

Is it possible to give it a try on an upcoming event?  San Diego uses it.
