Warwick Thanks

Topic created by dzimmer on Fri Apr 7, 2017 at 2:29 pmWe had a nice sunny day at the Warwick event with temps in the low 60's. A persistant mild wind kept it a little chilly under the pavillion for registration but it was quite pleasant in the woods. I would like to express my thanks to Mary Frank, who not only was our course setter, but mentored a first time event director through the details of organizing an event. My thanks also go to Diane Reider, who rode to the rescue at the last minute to help with E-punch: Kathy Urban, who staffed e-punch and patiently explained to me the details of finalizing the numbers and sending the results; David Morgan and Becky Hughes, our wonderful registration staff; Steve Orwaschel, who helped man Start; Dave Urban, Eric Weyman, Mark Frank and Mitch Zimmer, who picked up controls; and Bob Agosta, who helped pack everything up at the end. I offer my gratitude to my husband, Mitch, and son, Jerry, who helped set up controls, offer instruction, man start, and did whatever else I asked of them. If I have missed anyone I sincerely express my apologies.
We had a relatively small crew working this event and we didn't have any major problems, but it would have been nice to have a few extra hands available. The one major lesson I learned in organizing this event is to be more pro-active in finding volunteers and not waiting for people to sign up. So I encourage everyone to take a look at the upcoming schedule and offer to help in some small way! Your event directors will greatly appreciate your help. -
