Topic created by skolins on Sat Apr 8, 2017 at 5:13 pmControls are out for Sunday's event. The woods look great - amazing visibility in the white woods, just the very first buds on the undergrowth in the green areas. Forecast looks terrific - come join us!

Reply by Sandy on Mon Apr 10, 2017 at 8:04 amAgreed! Sam's courses were terrific solving the problem of how to get to the nice woods and back to the finish with some clever route choice legs. And I hear he has something very interesting planned for the next time he sets courses at Governor Dick!
In addition to setting the courses, Sam also took care of everything that needed to be done ahead of time including getting the maps printed and bagged to putting out all the controls and water. And then helped out wherever needed all day Sunday. Made the job of event directing pretty easy. Thanks, Sam!
Other helpers of the day:
Mark Frank who came early and helped set up, worked registration and then taught a beginner's course to a very receptive crowd.
Dave Morgan and Erik Eddy who also worked registration.
Roger Hartley who manned the start all day long, assisted by Andrea later in the day.
Kathy Urban pitched in at epunch for the late shift.
And of course the control picker uppers: Bob Fink, Petr Hartman, Tom Overbaugh, Bob Agosta and David Urban.
I hope I didn't forget anyone, but if I did, my apologies.

Reply by kathyu on Mon Apr 10, 2017 at 10:07 amWhat a great day to be out in the woods. Thank you to everyone who made it happen. Results are up super quick, although the splits were, well, interesting. Try to get a look at them before they are corrected.

Reply by skolins on Mon Apr 10, 2017 at 11:01 amThank you to everybody who came out on Sunday - great to see you out in the woods and hear your thoughts on the courses.
A big thank you to all of the volunteers Sandy mentioned above who helped the day run smoothly. I'll add Fred Kruesi to the list - he did all of the map printing.
Also a big thank you to Sandy who stepped up as event director and made my life much easier. -
