Tall and very wet!It was lots of fun working start. I love the teams, " the hiking princesses" " All Road" etc. and just watching everyone navigate to the start was comical.Thanks to everyone who helped in some way, every little bit counts . Camperpat

Equalling March 2015's 4 Mile Circle snow, this event was definitely "memorable."However beautifully emerald green the entire terrain was, that will be the last time we venture into the pinelands once the leaves have bloomed on all the understory. It makes it twice as tough getting through all the blueberry (+ their leaves), thrice as tough when they are full of raindrops, let alone finding off-trail controls when you had to absolutely nail the control feature before you even (perhaps) saw the blue e-box jutting up just above the greenery. Now you know why so many of the winning times were so high, except for the advanced courses' top finishers who out did your navigational selves.Thank all of you who attended for your enthusiastic reception, feedback, and good spirits.As well as your hosts at the event -- Bob Burton's welcoming spirit at Registration (as well as when you came in at Finish) and Pat Burton's smiles and laughter and assistance at Start -- Robert Hesketh manned the e-system with his usual aplomb and gathered up controls and streamers during pickup, Sandy Fillebrown for early instruction and e-assistance, Roger Hartley for a variety of encouragement and general help early on, Kathy and Dave Urban who volunteered their help for what ended up being way beyond everyone's expectations, and Anond who got a rich O-experience of what map navigation entails at the farthest regions of our control pick-up.Thank you all so much. Pakim Pond is personally a very fond childhood memory. And I just couldn't resist giving you all a run around the Pond coming into Finish.

Sorry about the 'chopped' edge though, that's my fault. Trying to do too much at once. I will see if I can do an in-place map replacement.

Reply by bobburg on Thu May 26, 2016 at 8:44 pmIf I accurately hear one of the problems about the map on RG is that it does NOT show basic features on everyone's day-of course maps --The problem with the RG map probably comes from the fact that a major trail and several clearings I used were only in the course file, which I was hoping would import along with the courses in RG. Fred overprinted the courses (including my added trail and clearings) on the club's Pakim off-set maps. But apparently RG couldn't show those overprint features along with the circles and numbers and lines.Being techno-challenged, that may explain nothing.
But perhaps it does.
