Topic created by Len on Wed May 14, 2014 at 7:44 amHas Route Gadget been posted for FCC and Norristown? I don't see a link anywhere. I'm really interested in seeing some of the other routes to these courses. Thanks.

Reply by ErikEddy on Wed May 14, 2014 at 8:09 amLen- there was a delay on FCC, because we needed to get some results from MASOC into Sunday's results. Now that those are added in RG should be up soon. HM4 has been doing a superb job this year!

Reply by Len on Wed May 14, 2014 at 9:31 amThanks Erik. I didnt know if I was missing seeing the link. I also like the splitilizer. The two of them help me see whare I'm doing good and where I need help. I agree with you on Hugh's work this year. It has been great.

Reply by edscott on Thu May 15, 2014 at 8:47 amSince Norristown maps were hand drawn I doubt if there is a file of the courses to use for route gadget. I'm not sure why FCC file isn't up. I'll send out a couple emails to see if it can be put on route gadget.

Reply by hughmac4 on Fri May 16, 2014 at 3:01 pmHi everyone, sorry for the massive RG delays! I know it's annoying. My solumn RG Admin pledge: I will faithfully put up the RG for an event as soon as I have all of the components (OCAD, Condes, Results).Steve: please don't post events to RouteGadget (if that's what you meant in your post) without coordinating with me. That said, are you a RG guy? Would you like to be my backup in case I'm unavailable for some reason? Let me know! I would love to have a backup.
FCC & NFP: I'm still waiting on the OCAD MAP for FCC (I got the Condes last night, thanks for (I presume) instigating that Ed), and the control cards (I got the maps on Wed night, sorry I didn't ask for clue sheets too John) for NFP. John Campbell: get me the control cards/clue sheets! Fred Krusi (or anyone who has the latest FCC map) get me the FCC OCAD map! (Both have been e-mailed, this is just a rhetorical FYI).For those of you setting courses this year: to avoid these kinds of delays, and my ire (hah!):- use Condes or OCAD (Condes preferred) to draw your courses
- send me the Condes file and OCAD map as far in advance before the event as possible (Friday or earlier would be AWESOME!)
That way I'll be ready to go when the event is over and I get results from Vadim. -

I can see why you interpurted my note as you did, but it was not my intent to step on your toes. What I should have said, was that I could create a condes file if I had the paper maps, that I could send to you for posting.
No. I do not have any RG experience from your side of the program. If you are willing to deal with the handicapped, I could be your back-up. -
Reply by hughmac4 on Sat May 17, 2014 at 0:17 amCool Steve ... I don't actually need a Condes file created, although it wouldn't hurt ... in RG when you import the results you can drop the the controls where they belong. It lists all of the control numbers on the side of the map, you select them and then drop them where they belong on the map. Pretty nice! IF I knew what the control numbers for all of the courses were. I'll pull them out of the results soon instead of waiting for John to make it easy for me. :)And Steve (or others): if you want to learn RG, I'd be happy to teach you. It's kind of a bear, but the basics are fairly straightforward. I'll add to the notes I have so that I got from Doug Sevon and be ready to train a couple of folks, maybe after a race one Sunday! Straight to the cloud!

Reply by rpboehme on Sat May 17, 2014 at 5:13 pmThanks for all the work you do on 'hughgadget'. I am looking forward to uploading my course to FCC, now that a little attack point post told me it is up and running. For those who want a laugh, watch my little dot on the way to Green 8 and guess where I went swimming. ;-)
I heard the illustrious LenP also did some swimming a week later, albeit not in crocs.

Reply by DaveUrban on Sun May 18, 2014 at 9:15 amUploaded Farm Park & FC Central this AM. Thanks Hugh! GPS data pointed out my dumb route choices and real mistakes.

Reply by edscott on Mon May 19, 2014 at 5:59 pmI have a question. My Norristown Brown map, and Judy's, were different from the one posted, yet the two routes entered on Route Gadget go right to the "wrong" control and skip the one I had. Were there two different versions of Brown? If so we had the longer one.

Reply by Steve on Mon May 19, 2014 at 6:11 pmI was one of the people that ran MASOC on Saturday. As a result, I did not use the epunch. When I uploaded my course, all I got was a blue dot at start and another one at number1. I then loaded my course manually, so it was no big deal. I also noticed I was listed as a DNF on RG (not in the results)
