help needed - anyone going to A events this spring?

Topic created by Nancy on Tue Mar 11, 2014 at 9:42 pmWe need help to promote the upcoming Mason-Dixon A event next month. One suggestion was to pass out flyers promoting our A event at these upcoming events: team trials in California and Flying Pig in Ohio.Any DVOAers or friends planning to attend who would be willing to tuck flyers under windshield wipers of cars in the parking lot?And if you are not already registered for the Mason-Dixon event, why not? We can put you on a team on Saturday, or you can come run on Sunday only. We're introducing some new terrain at both Fair Hill on Saturday (getting into PA) and White Clay Creek on Sunday (more DE territory).

Reply by hughmac4 on Wed Mar 12, 2014 at 4:17 pmHi Nancy!I have no plans for A-events prior to Mason-Dixon, but I have a couple of 'exposure' suggestions:
- put the link (http://www.dvoa.org/events/aevents/2014/index.php) in the event listing in the Events page (with registration!) so it's easy to transition from perusing the events page to registering
- Do a writeup for the front page? Not sure how that works these days, but it might be possible to highlight the event there. Vadim?
- post a reminder and maybe chatter (and maybe fix up?) the Attackpoint entry for the event (http://attackpoint.org/eventdetail.jsp/event_17547) ... there's no mention of "Mason Dixon Classic" at all
- keep chatting about it on AP, Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/mydvoa), and Twitter (https://twitter.com/MyDVOA)
That's all I got. I'll post a few fliers around Penn if you get me a PDF -- post somewhere online and link here?Good luck!-HughP.S. -- I'll register for at least Sunday soon. ;)P.P.S -- I just realized you mentioned putting fliers on car windshields. This seems like a wasteful practice, and I often make a point of not purchasing a product/participating in an event if it's advertised on my windshield. Maybe just post a few at places where all runners will be? The start? Download? Just my 2¢! -

As for effectiveness...?
