A number of people are experiencing problems with RouteGadget for Star Village and getting a "map not found" error message. I'm not sure what is causing this error, but the map is there. I've found that it seems to be an intermittent problem as I can load the Star Village event several times in a row without any problems and then get the error. Once I get the error, I need to close and restart the browser before I can get the map to load. This may or may not work for others who are experiencing the problem.

For this event, I tried making the image resolution a bit finer which resulted in a larger file size. Not sure if this is the issue, but it is something that I did differently.  At this point, we've had 9 runners enter routes so deleting the event to reload with a smaller map file size isn't a good choice.

I can confirm it's working, at least on my business workstation. I'll give it a try tonight.

I've gotten that message before, both on DVOA's RouteGadget and on others. Usually just going back and trying the link again seems to resolve it. Seems like just an occasional minor glitch.

I tried last night and twice tonight, keeps saying "map not found".

Usually when it says that if I try later or refresh it usually work, no luck with that so far.

I get a map displayed without errors - too bad it is a street map of the area.

Zoom out, Dave... that's the locator map on the very top left hand corner of the orienteering map ;-)

I've been told to chill out but never before to zoom out! Anyhow - tried with Safari and got "Map not found" error with the following string : http://www.dvoa.org/cgi/gadget/reitti.cgi?act=map&id=178&kieli=

    I'll zoom & chill out.

I've had intermittent problems in the past but this one is consistant.  I've tried Firefox and Safari.  I've restarted and emptied the cache multiple times.  I've tried to open the map at least 40 times since Sunday so I'd say the file does have a problem.

I just tried and was able to get the map.  The browser (Firefox) acted funny for a bit but eventually made it to the map.

Most likely the issue relates to the extreme size of file, just a wild guess. I was able to put my GPS track yesterday night.

Just downloaded a new Java file and installed it.  Didn't help. Both my browsers are listed as the newest versions. What else can I do?  I'll add that it doesn't bog down and quit trying to load the file.  I get an immediate message that it can not be found.

No problem getting the map to come up on older work notebook.......map is large and need to click in the body of the map and drag to get to the course.

Looks like it was a fun course sorry I didn't make it out there.

I'm going to study tonight when I get home.

Map still not found on my puter, but it loads fine on my wifes. To technical for me. Oh well a 42 minute leg is pretty shameful anyhow.

Ridley works for me....  Whatever is wrong seems to be limited to the Star Village file.

Funny enough, I am NOW having problems. It has been opening just fine for me until today. I just fixed a problem I was having with my Garmin drivers and only today was able to try uploading my route. The map still loads fine until I go to import the GPS tracks. Then I get the tracks okay but the "map not found" comes up as the background. Tried two browsers (IE 8 and Chrome) same result.

I realize it's probably not getting fixed but maybe this info will be helpful somehow if it happens again.
