DVOA/HVO dual event update

Topic created by brambles6 on Fri Nov 18, 2011 at 5:07 pmWhile everyone else is looking for the Dual Event Plaque I thought it would be timely to mention that there actually will be a Dual event. That pesky check mark hasn't made it to the events page because of the paper work, which is now in hand.
From the event description on the DVOA home page you all know that the rest of the preparation for this event was child's play.
Petr, Steve, and I are starting our own logging company and Petr is thinking of running a "tree stump" Billy Goat event.
Another important factor is that the park's rest rooms are closed for the season. The price for portapotty rentals is now sky high so that wasn't an option. Plan accordingly.
The weather looks promising (warmer than normal) and most of the brambles are gone; this is a "white woods" park and the views are spectacular. Who knows: maybe the Plaque is geocached somewhere on the course? -

With park restrooms closed and porta-potties at a premium (didn't know DVOA was short on cash...
), I guess it is fair to ask: Where are the nearest usable restrooms?
(I hope they're not in the same place as the Plaque...

Reply by kathyu on Sun Nov 20, 2011 at 9:51 amFor the sake of those of us who are driving long distances, I second the request for the location of the nearest facilities, i.e. McDonalds or similar. Anyway, we should respect the venue if we want to be welcomed back.

Reply by Steve on Sun Nov 20, 2011 at 11:21 pmAs far as the rest rooms go, please be patient. We are still working on this, and will post the best answer by Thanksgiving.

It will be placed in the parking lot of South Mountain Park. Also, since the directions we have given on the Event page channel all of you folks through the I 78 exchange in Hellertown, you can choose to visit either Turkey Hill or Wendy's on your way to or from the event. Finally, I'm working on Plan C, which might be closer.

Reply by Steve on Thu Nov 24, 2011 at 7:24 pmMy screw up results in your good fortune. I ordered the wrong white course, so rather than throwing out ten maps, I am offering a half price sprint course for the first ten people that ask. The proceeds will go to the juniors. Don't worry though, I have printed up ten more white courses that are correct.
