Sprint 1: 2.2 km (1.8km straight line) 14 controls
Sprint 2: 2.6 km (1.6km straight line) 13 controls
Sprint 3: 1.3 km (1.6km straight line) 12 controls
White: 0.9 km ( straight line same) 18 controls
These sprint distances are measured along the shortest legal path (avoiding OB, buildings, and uncrossable walls). Due to all of the neat building and wall shapes, this is significantly longer than the straight line distance!
No metal spiked shoes are allowed.
You will be on paved or mown grass surfaces the entire time. No leg protection is required.
Out of Bounds:
We must respect the out of bounds areas to be invited back and for our own safety! Olive green areas are out of bounds and thick black lines are walls that are illegal to cross.
Olive Green: This represents out of bounds areas. On this map, olive green is mostly flower beds with a few cases of mechanical equipment. If you cross olive green you will be disqualified. Even if you think you can cross without stepping on any plants or by jumping over the flower bed, it is still against the rules! All the green areas on the map to the right are olive green out of bounds. The olive green out of bounds has a black boundary on the map.
Uncrossable Walls: On sprint maps the thick black lines represent uncrossable walls. Unlike on forest maps, it is against the rules to cross an uncrossable wall, even if you physically can cross the wall. On this map there are cases where some orienteers might be tempted to jump down an uncrossable wall, but this is illegal. There are also a couple of shorter walls that are marked uncrossable because they are old and unstable. There are two (unmapped) gates in uncrossable walls on the map that are usually locked - even if they are unlocked you cannot open the gates since the wall is mapped as uncrossable.
Map Notes:
