I'd like to thank the course setter for some very interesting legs on the Brown course. Route choice and attack point on #8 were particularly challenging for me. And a very big thank you to those at the finish who offered aid and comfort for the bloody gash on my head. At first I thought of explaining it as a bear encounter, or a final face-off with Donald Trump who demanded my birth certificate before I could punch (that would have been huge.  HUGE!). It was just the result of not allowing enough clearance for a large limb overhead. Anyway, thank you so much. The healing has begun.

I too had a great time, minus the bloody gash. This was my first red and my first time messing with pace counting. I think I'm onto somthing with that, but most of you already knew that. I did alot better with finding controls today, I guess I'm actually learning some techniques. I did go slower than normal for the first few controls, per Ed and Mark's advise and that paid off. I did have to tell myself a few times to slow down.

It was cool hanging out and comparing notes waiting to go out and pick up controls too.

It was a good day and about perfect weather wise.

    Thanks to all responsible, Mike

My son and I had an awesome time on Yellow... other than the mud trying to eat his shoes at one point.  Honest!  (Have you tried dealing with a three-year-old boy who doesn't like mud?  Thankfully there was a conveniently downed tree a few paces further along...)

I think I've created a monster though.  Every day almost Seamus asks if I'm going to "do a yellow" today.  Oh, and he also wants to make sure I have my map at all times too! *laugh*
