Reply by DSevon on Sun Apr 3, 2011 at 8:46 pmRouteGadget accepts the following formats: GPX, FRWD KML Export, Garmin HST, Garmin TCX, FRWD text export, Suunto sdf. I own a Garmin 405 and typically export a TCX file from Garmin Center (Garmin's software for tracking workouts). With the TCX, you load the event in QuickRoute and RouteGadget. QuickRoute is a nice program (http://www.matstroeng.se/quickroute/en/) for overlaying your path onto a map image.
Uploading to RouteGadget isn't too bad. The program initially 3 points that are used to align your path with the map image. The key is to have 3 points that are widely spaced where you know exactly where they are on the map. After that, you can add additional points (always use 3 is the tip from the software's programmer) and move them to get a better match.

Reply by furlong47 on Sun Apr 3, 2011 at 11:57 pmI use this site to convert my Garmin TCX files to GPX which I then upload to RouteGadget: http://www.gpsvisualizer.com/
For some reason if I try to upload TCX directly it never works (goes back to the map page but the track does not load) -
