    Last I heard, Matt and his wife moved to China.

    Yes they are living in China.  Their Christchurch house is about halfway between the epicenter and the main part of town where the older buildings that have been shown on the news are located.  It sustained some damage but it doesn't appear to be too severe.

    PS. there have been about 5000 quakes in the area since last September.  There is a good presentation of the data in Google Map form at http://www.christchurchquakemap.co.nz/  

    Matt & Lara's house is southeast  of the printed word "Christchurch" in Waltham a couple blocks beyond Rt 73. (at the scale that the map opens, it is at the bend of the yellow road SW of the C in Christchurch) If you are adjusting the website for the date remember the month and day numbers are reversed from our standard.
