Online membership renewals available!

Topic created by kent on Tue Dec 14, 2010 at 1:33 pmIt's membership renewal time again! This year that chore can be a lot easier and faster – no filling out a paper form, no checks, no stamps – you can do it all online!
A few brave souls have already given it a shake down, so now it's time to offer it to all those members that have already created their own accounts. So, if you have already created your own DVOA account you can renew online right now! If you don't like to follow the link, the URL is http://www.dvoa.org/join/renew.php.
Note to all members that have not created their own account: Please be patient – in another couple of weeks I'll publish and send instructions on how to log in so that you can renew your memberships.
BTW, new members can join online also. Since this is a new feature, I want to phase it in gradually so there are no links yet for how new members can join. However, the direct URL for new members to join is: http://www.dvoa.org/join/new.php

Reply by Vadim on Tue Dec 14, 2010 at 1:53 pmI would like to say big THANK YOU to Kent who put a lot of energy and time into this project. It's one of the long waited and biggest changes to our online services.
Please be patient if you have some troubles.
While reviewing your account (profile) information don't forget to make any necessary changes and update your data. -

Reply by j-man on Tue Dec 14, 2010 at 3:12 pmThanks Kent for making this possible! We loved the online renewal process--incredibly easy, and it is great to be able to update the info online, and to see the membership expiration date, etc! It was fantastic! Can't wait to renew next year :)!- Dasha and Clem

Reply by Tom-O on Tue Dec 14, 2010 at 6:52 pmYay! This is great Kent! Thanks for setting it up.
One feature you might want to consider adding in the future is the ability to make a donation to the club along with the membership payment. The end-of-year timing for membership renewal is also a convenient time for making donations. -
Reply by kent on Tue Dec 14, 2010 at 7:54 pmHaving donations is a great idea. You are the second person with that suggestion. I want to work with John Ort to make sure I have the wording correct, and then hope to have that capability incorporated relatively soon.
BTW, anyone can make a donation via PayPal - just go to the PayPal website and send money to frankdvoa (at) aol (dot) com. -
Reply by kathyu on Wed Dec 15, 2010 at 8:10 amSpeaking of donations, I'm always impressed at registration at the number of people who donate their change from their registration fee to the club. I don't think we track this in any way, but it must add up. It just goes in the cash box.
