Reply by edscott on Fri Sep 19, 2014 at 9:00 amYes, for the 24th year, another great Hickory Run Training Weekend. Training day seemed to go well in spite of the rain and the courses on Sunday were made more interesting by adding a bit of fresh terrain to the South. Special thanks need to go to the kitchen crew. Only a few of them had the time to get out of the kitchen to do a course. Next year we plan on having a separate event director for the Sunday activities to take some pressure off the Saturday workers.

Reply by camperpat on Fri Sep 19, 2014 at 10:40 amYes, it was another wonderful weekend at Hickory Run, despite the rain and lack of help in some areas. I was fortunate to run a course on Sunday, not everyone on the kitchen crew was able to get out. Thanks to Steve and Sharon, their expert preperation of the menue, from buying , bringing and cooking the food to dishing it out made the weekend enjoyable. Also, thank you to every single person who stopped in the kitchen to help out, we could not have done it without you.If your coming to Hickory Run next year, consider helping in the kitchen. We start on Friday , we stock, prep , cut and chop all day to get ready for Sat.Thanks to everyone for a fun weekend pat burton

Reply by Steve on Fri Sep 19, 2014 at 10:53 amA special thanks to all of the kitchen crew. This year's crew starts with the regulars (Steve Reeps, Ron Barron Dave Desch, Pat and Bob Burton, Bridget) and continues with Sergei Federov, Judy Scott, and the boys from troop 45 and the cadets from West point. Finally was the lady who helped us pack on Sunday, whoose name I never got. Things went well because of the lighter than normal turnout, and the expert help that you all give so freely.
Our sincere gratitude

Reply by ErikEddy on Mon Sep 22, 2014 at 10:21 amThank you everyone who put on this event.
It was a special event for me, as (my fiance) Lauren was able to take the beginner training, and tackle a Yellow course on her own for the first time (of course, now she wants to try Orange). The social aspect of the weekend helped greatly, and must never be underrated as a key to future success in this sport. Now she is bringing two more friends to Crow's Nest!
Thank you!!
