Great pictures. The woods look 'clean' Did you end up all black when you got home? How aboutt the smell? I thought I could smell soot on Shed road during MASOC, but I did not see any burn from there or on the green course.

Thanks! The woods smelled a little smoky Wednesday when it was humid, not so much last Saturday when the air was clearer. It's not bad at all. Also, the white ash seems to have been all washed away, and the black soot isn't very bad. Not nearly as hard on the shoes as a wet day at Boone. I didn't get out onto the further east end of the map, but the two worst fight areas that I dealt with in setting courses 2 years ago were untouched. Too bad, but of course it's good that it didn't get any further out of hand.

Nice photos and map, Ed! To extend the southern part of your mapped burned area, just fill in the area down to the E-W trail just N of the Bear Hill label -- that E-W trail is the fire break. Where that trail turns from W to N is where I took my photos, as far N as the T junction to the SW of your mapped area.

Looks like the writer did a 180... Far Western part of the park????  ... and 1000 yards to the fireworks company was reduced to 100 yards to add a bit of excitement.
