The road conditions at the park have delayed the opening of the gate at the park to allow the club volunteers from completing the last bit of setup work. This may delay the starts by about an hour.

Definitely worth the wait!  Thanks, Vadim, it was a super fun course.

Thanks, Vadim. We really enjoyed getting out and enjoying the fields and woods.  Very quick apparent posting of the results, but there seems to be a problem viewing them--four links under results, none of them accessible to us. Bev

There is a small issue with upload utility. We are looking into the issue.

    Okay, preliminary results are available.

Thank you to all brave souls who manage to make it to the Norristown Farm Park this winter day for some fun run in the snow. We had a little delay due to ice on the park road and as result later gate opening which caused later start as planned originally. It was awesome to see you all ready to go out and constantly asking me when the start time is going to be. The mass start was amazing as always, which gave some of you a rare chance to run head-to-head with your nearest competitors. Then it was a moment of first finisher coming in on the beginner course breaking 25 minutes. And it took only additional 20 minutes for the top runners on the advanced course, which featured couple of twist to make it more enjoyable, to reach a finish line.

My big thank you goes to everyone who helped me with the event: Greg Balter – controls setup; Sandy and Karl Ahlswede, Doug Sevon – registration/e-punch; Nathan Ohrwaschel, Mike Carter, Petr Hartman, Bob Fink, and Christopher Hand – controls pickup. Without you this event would not be a success.

Here is a photo of the Novice Course setter award winner/Most Improved Orienteer/Under 18 Champion sporting a look that may become more common in the woods:

Thank you to all the brave volunteers who endured the cold to set up & take down the controls, and kept from freezing while running the computers!

I had a great time even though I fell down twice.  Lesson: skinny little non-waterproof "O" shoes with cleats are much wiser to wear than warmer shoes with less traction!
