Warm Invite to Quail Hill

Topic created by bobburg on Sun Mar 12, 2017 at 2:59 pmCan't wait to have you all run on the new and improved Quail Hill map, completely revised this year. It finishes a 3 year project, revising the map piece by piece as courses required. But now we have an added bonus -- I just found out 2 weeks ago that a portion of the camp we have never been allowed to use is now open to us, which Orange, Brown, Green, and Red will all visit. And take a gander at the 4.5m tall rootstock as you pass by it!What has also opened up in places, especially prior to the spring greenery sprouting up, are areas we've long avoided becuase of how gnarly they were (and/or were mapped). Many of you may feel like you've stumbled into woods you've never seen before .....because you never have!
So we invite you to come to our "debut" event. We'll also be hosting 200 to 300 scouts and cadets, so we could certainly use your help -- especially with morning Set-Up, Start, Instruction, and Pick-Up -- and later relief so that our core staff can go run a course.P.S. With the prospective nor'easter sailing up the coast on Tuesday, and no tropical temperatures due in the days following, we could have a very interesting day next Sunday. Winter and Spring have apparently traded places this year. Hope Hibernia was fun preparation for whatever wonderland greets us next week. -
