A new issue of the club's newsletter, the Briar Patch, is now available electronically at this link: http://dvoa.org/BPnewsletter/BP_Jan_2017.pdf

We'll try to get hard copies mailed out to members in the next week or two.

Echoing Dave Urban's comment, perhaps a field in the annual membership could be a check box for opting out of receiving hard copies with a note in each Briar Patch that this is possible.

By the way, thanks for publishing the newsletter!  It was great.

Same for me. Also, default should be electronic, and you could request a printed copy. It would save money and you could have color photos and map illustrations. For discussion, do you see the BP as an exclusive benefit of being a member or a sales tool to interest people in our sport?

I would still like a paper copy, but I'll pick it up at the winter meeting.

Perhaps mailing for all those who stick with paper should wait until after the meeting.

Could be both. Have the current issue available to all via link on the Home Page and "members only" access to searchable archive of all BP issues.

Some will still prefer a print copy, but having them on line cerrtainly makes sense to me.  If there is a choice I'd opt out of the hard copy.

Some people ( confession) don't like sitting in front of a screen longer than necessary.
Too many ants-in-the-pants !   I like the mobility of taking a hard copy with me here and there to read as time
and circumstances allow. A hard copy will probably always be my preference. When all your computers, and/or all the related technology, crash I will gladly look up a back issue for some info you may be seeking.

Plans are to have hard copies available at the winter meeting.

For the forseeable future, we plan to offer both hard copy and digital copy immediately upon release.

A challenge will be setting up the database to allow for members to opt in/out of receiving the hard copy of the Briar Patch and to receive electronic notification that the digital version is available.

I read the online copy, I'll opt out for the hard copy.
