50th Anniversary tee shirts
-
Topic created by kathyu on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 1:27 pmIf we created 50th anniversary tee shirts maybe in time to wear at NAOC, would you be interested? It would be a limited edition, maybe royal blue performance type shirt in women's and men's sizes, design by Bob Gross, and sold at cost. Reply below or drop me a line. If we really got hopping, we could even have them for Hickory Run. These are not official red-white-and-blue club shirts. Reply below. Example, the Urbans would want a ladies XL and a men's L and the same for the Plunks in Florida. KathyU

Reply by Steve on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 4:26 pmIs this a pre order 1 time only? or will you by a case and sell them all year long?
-
Reply by furlong47 on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 5:02 pmAssuming this is to gauge interest and not an official order yet... I would want probably a women's L or XL or a men's M. It would be helpful if we know what kind of shirt/style and if there's a size chart.

Reply by kathyu on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 6:14 pmI'm looking at a v neck style for ladies sizes and regular for men. Size chart will be available. This is looking for level of interest.

Reply by kathyu on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 6:17 pmTo Steve, how many sweatshirts do you WISH you had ordered?
-
Reply by Steve on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 6:57 pmSweat shirts were available in 3 colors, 5 sizes each, with and without the maps on the back. All told, I sold about 75. Some of them were practically given away because we bought too many without maps, which will not be an issue for you. I would get 60, with a 15 women/45 men split, mostly m,l,xl and take orders after that. Larger sizes can be loose and mobile on smaller people

Reply by DaveUrban on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 8:03 pmhow much did you sell the sweatshirts for? I think the tees will be about $10, which is an attractive price point.Kathyu

Reply by Steve on Sat Aug 13, 2016 at 8:19 pm$30 without, $35 with

Reply by KathleenG on Mon Aug 15, 2016 at 8:21 pmI'm sure we'd each buy one. Probably a men's L and a women's M. Or if unisex, L and M.

Reply by dmorgan on Mon Aug 15, 2016 at 10:12 pmAdd one "T" and one sweat shirt, both Men's "medium", for me.

Reply by Steve on Tue Aug 16, 2016 at 8:06 amSorry Dave, the sweat shirts were offered 10 years ago for the 40th. I was just giving some advice to Kathy on how to run a tee shirt sale. REPEAT, THERE ARE NO SWEATSHIRTS.

I'd be interested in finalyl having a proper O shirt! Would either get men's L or Xl, depending on cut and my tubbiness that particular week. ;-)

Reply by kathyu on Tue Aug 16, 2016 at 2:12 pmRepeat, while perfectly fine for orienteering, running or the gym etc these are not official DVOA shirts, nor are they priced like them! The women's style will be crew neck. No vee neck in Royal, unfortunately. Now we wait for Bob Gross to do his usual magic for the design.

Reply by kathyu on Thu Sep 1, 2016 at 10:00 amJust an update -- the design is done, and Bob did a super job with a traditional and yet fresh design for royal blue shirts. We are ordering a limited edition of 100 shirts. If you indicated interest here, I'll put your shirt aside, but you are not obligated. Keep checking here for updates.

Reply by Guy-O on Thu Sep 1, 2016 at 8:07 pmCould the design be posted (here or elsewhere)?
-
Reply by kathyu on Fri Sep 2, 2016 at 9:30 amYes, I just posted a sketch of the shirt design on Facebook on the DVOA FB page. The map names on the back should be a great conversation starter. The shirts will definitely be coming to NAOC and we hope they will be available before then. Price will be an affordable $10. Reserve yours now!Kathy

Reply by furlong47 on Tue Sep 6, 2016 at 10:25 pmDo we have a size chart or at least an idea of the shirts they'll be printed on (Men's sizes? Fitted or loose?)
-
Reply by kathyu on Wed Sep 7, 2016 at 12:06 pmJulie, I emailed you the size charts. Will hold a ladies xl for you unless I hear different.Current status -- just before Labor Day they got the design, the shirt order by sizes, and the payment. I'll put shirts aside for everyone who expressed an interest. I ordered a bunch of the popular sizes and a few odd sizes. It was kind of fun doing this so far (Bob Gross did the heavy lifting with the design). Maybe we need to get some infant onesies too??

Reply by Guy-O on Thu Sep 8, 2016 at 2:09 amPlease put aside a Men's Large for me -- and send me the sizing chart, just to double check...
