Controls are in the woods and the event is ready to go.

Join us for the mass start at 11 AM or start on your own any time in the usual 10-1 window.

Forcast looks dry and a little less humid than this past week!

    Hope to see you tomorrow,

    Sam

Super fun event!  Wasn't sure I was going to like all the forking but it was really, really well done and in looking at the different choices people made there did not seem to be an obvious one.  Well done!

Kudos! Fork options were great this year: I took some conservative routes early and then tried the riskier shorter options later. Great use of the woods which can certainly be tricky to course set in this time of year.

Just going to meld the "Thank You"s right in to this thread as it's nice to stay on the same page to read everyone's comments.
This was in every way a nearly perfect orienteering day, starting with Sam's superb courses. It's always a treat to have a break from the normal. I haven't seen so many people hanging around discussing their course and the choices they made for a long time. Must have been something special going on out there.
The weather, for mid July, was as good as can be expected this time of year. The other near perfect things today were the many volunteer helpers.
    Thanks to the following:
Dave Morgan for showing up early to help with setup then helping with registration.
Sandy Fillibrown for early e-punch setup and hanging in there till everything was running smoothly.
    Ali Bortz for e-punch
Sam Kolins, besides course setter extrordinaire, for e-punch wrapup.
Mary Frank for the bulk of registration
    John Gillette on registration
Bob Gross at the Start most of the day
    Dianne Reider at Start
And then there was the ever expanding control pickup crew. Apparently they just didn't get enough on their courses.
Ed Scott, the only original "sure thing" pickup guy
Mark Frank, who went out of his way just to come help with pickup
Bob Fink, Kim McKane, Fred Reed, Sam Reed, and Eric Wyman, all walk-ins that materialized at the last minute to help make this another piece of the near perfect day.
This is what Event Directing should be about. Thanks.

What a great showing by DVOA and QOC and HVO and all the new faces, including a bunch of very young ones. Thanks to all for coming out and making this a near perfect day for Sam and myself, and hopefully yourself.
