Please  welcome all to the HVO park Lewis Morris County park this Sunday 21 Nov for the annual dual meet.  As this is the 3rd closest park with an O map to my nearby home, I wanted to remind ereaders that it has deer, and you  all know ... that most parks with deer (I saw at least 5 deer in my little trainer trek) they have various shades of dog ticks  (both nymph and adults at this late fall stage).

Well, FYI  -  I did a Lewis Morris training O run (bushwacking also a bit) on Sunday last since as ED at Quail last Week End as I could not enjoy Doug Sevons O fine course last saturday due to other duties like ... maybe organizxing 300 Scouts (at least 22 Scout units/pack or troop) and 100 ROTC cadets (3 High School's).

Well, the Lewis Morris park is a nice mix of oak and ash and Sassafrass trees, but with 50/50 mix (a guess) of  open woods and rockrose or other low brambles of varing density.  So during my 1 hour training run I collected and destroyed 5 of 6 ticks i noticed, except one quick scrambler leaped to safety so she's still out there waiting for a snack (near the toboggan trail).   So wear light or white clothing/pants (tip O the day)  and bring a DEET bug spray, and be forewarned to check for the little Buggers at the end of the O Lewis Morris park meet next Sunday.
