Delaware Water Gap Rogaine and distance between controls
-
Topic created by KathyM on Wed Jun 1, 2016 at 11:33 amI have signed up for the Rogaine on Sunday but will not be able to compete for the full 6 hours. I would like to participate for about 3 hours and use it as a training exercise. How closely spaced will the controls be? I can typically run an Orange course in about 1 hour to 1 hour 20 min. Unfortunatly, I will not be able to keep up that pace for the full 3 hours! Will the controls be spaced so that I can hit multiple controls within a 3 hour time limit or are they spaced so far apart that I will only be able to find 2 or 3 controls? I am completely new to Rogaines and any suggestions would be very appreciated!
Thank you,

The spacing between controls is quite variable, with many close together and others off on their own. There are a good number relatively close to the start/finish, and, assuming your navigation is reasonably good, you should have no problem designing a loop for yourself that gets to 5-10 orange level controls in 3 hours at a brisk walking pace.
Hope that helps!
