West Point National Event 4/23-4/24

Topic created by Orienteer7 on Sat Apr 2, 2016 at 6:50 amWest Point's National Event is just a bit earlier this year and not on the Mid-Atlantic Scout Championship weekend as it is most years.... which affords me the opportunity to participate in the event. My family has commitments for the weekend so I will be going but my plan is to drive up and back both days. I have done this before. I will be leaving from the Pottstown area and have room for at least 2 more individuals.If interested in going to one or both days please contact me at orienteer7 at aol dot com to reserve a space. Let me know which day or both days. Once I confirm back you need to pre-register for the event asap. I believe when I registered... late registration fees had already kicked in. If you have never been to an away national events this is a close as they get and the woods are generally very open and maps are good. I will handle the driving and travel expenses....you need to cover your registration. We will travel North using Rt 100 to I-78 then east to on I-78 to NJ I-287 and then north to NY Thruway to event.If you have never registered for an event I can help you through it.Note that on Sunday we will need to leave earlier to arrive for 9am start times.USMAOC sent out a note this week that the event days have swapped and the "long" is on Sunday. I believe their website will reflect that now.Mark
