I always struggle to make up a volunteer list that will allow people to help run the event and still have enough time to get ready to run and run a course.  It’s hard to estimate how much help is needed.  I hate to have someone sign up to help and then have nothing to do or feel that their time was wasted.  The correct amount of staff needed to run an event is often a moving target.  If you are at an event and you see the event director needs help, jump in and help if you are able.  The epunch operators are critical, if you get done running early, consider asking if you can complete their shift so they can get out to run.

Thanks to: Erik Eddy and Dave Urban for giving instruction.  Dave Urban, early registration, Kathy Urban early epunch.  Kim McCane, late registration and control pick up.  Bob Fink late epunch and control pickup.  Mark Frank control pickup.  Bob Gross for taking all the equipment to Ed’s shed.  Ron Bortz for the Red Epunch kit upgrade.

Thanks to the people who stopped and asked if help was needed:  Ralph Tolbert, Dave Morgan, Bob Agosta. Thanks to anyone I may have missed.

Thanks to Sam Kolins, course setter, who did all the heavy lifting to make the event happen.

I’d like to recognize all the people who do a lot of the behind the scenes work to make these events possible.

In addition to all of the people already mentioned I like to add Tom Mentrak, Ron Bortz, Ed Scott, and Fred Kruesi, who all helped out before the event with getting the gear and maps ready to go and answering questions that I had. Seeing the board meeting after the event also made want to give them a thank you for all the work they do throughout the year on behalf of the club. Thanks to everybody for coming out, Sam
