    For those of you who live nearer to NYC like I do HVO are hosting a local meet this weekend on its Moneyhole map site of the 1986 Orienteering World Cup.? The map needs updating but its always fun technical orienteering so do come along.

    More information is available here.

    I have the marked map from the Women's 1986 World Cup event. HVO made it into a permanent course - with white and red markers posted on the north side of trees near the feature.
    I'm wondering if anyone has tried to run this fixed course.  I attempted to do it Memorial Day afternoon. I found the first control fairly easily but the second control YIKES!! I was wandering back and forth along those cliffs for more than 30 minutes. I looked at evey single tree. I found a shallow reentrant that I was sure was the one in the circle but the control wasn't there. I got very discouraged and wondered if the tree fell or something. There weren't any new fallen trees so it seemed unlikely. Any info about this permanent course would be appreciated.

    @Carol:
    Few HVOers read this board, so I suggest you send your questions to AskHVO@gmail.com; I would include your experience looking for that 2nd control.
