A great day at Norristown Farm Park.

John, I really enjoyed your Brown course. And you were right: the marshes really were wet!

Janet, thanks for serving as event director. You did a terrific job on the weather. Cool

Thanks to everyone else who helped to make the day a great one for us participants.

Thank you Nancy for the additional help on e-punch for the Graduate level solutions.  And while I am at it, thank you to Janet and John for a great event.  Nicely run.

Thanks to everyone who turned out on Mother's Day - we certainly had perfect weather. Janet and I really appreciate everyone who helped. A special thanks to John Gillette for taking command of the epunch on the day and to Kathy Urban for being our fine epunch operator.

A separate thanks to the person who put the epunch instruction sheet together - I succeeded in being able to sychronize all the controls in advance at first attempt - that person should be able to make a fortune considering how painfully bad most instructions are!!!

Thanks to Roger Hartley, Ed Scott, Mark Frank and all the other kind folks who I have missed. We greatly appreciated your assistance.

Well, although I came in last on the Green, had some interesting wildlife sitings on my ramblings to avoid the many fences.  First, the large snapping turtle right next to the trail down by the creek.  Dead or alive?  I didn't mess with it to find out, did anyone else?  Then, when I was off the beaten path due to a bad route choice, I am pretty sure I saw a coyote.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think Sandy F deserves the credit for those laminated instruction sheets. They make epunch really easy, especially entering courses.

Hi Larry, I am sure I saw that same coyote that you saw. Btw, I finished 2nd to last on the green. When I got home, I actually googled coyote to verify what I saw. I ran (well actually more walked) the green course and saw the coyote a little east of the big bend of the creek and a little south of straight line from controls 12 to 14 as looking at the green course map. He was quick and took off as soon as he saw me. I have not orienteered for that long but I have been an outdoor enthusiast my whole life, and that was the first coyote I have ever seen live.

Here's a video someone took of a coyote in the park last month:

    So they are certainly there!

Sorry for my late thank you to everyone who helped at Norristown Farm Park.   Have not had a computer for over a week now so I using my phone to type this and it isn't easy.   So I will make it short and sweet.   Thanks to everyone for your help.   It was a great day and everything went smoothly.   Thanks to John G. for the donation of roses for the Mothers as they finished and downloaded.   Thanks to John C for doing the courses so quickly and printing the maps.  John I will work with you any time.  THANKS again for all the help.
