Topic created by Nancy on Mon Apr 28, 2014 at 6:54 amThanks to all the people who contributed to a well-run A-event this weekend at Fair Hill and White Clay State Park. Thanks to:
- event directors Roger and Andrea Hartley (Roger volunteered, Andrea got drafted!)
- course designers Clem McGrath and Tom Overbaugh, who made good use of new and old areas recently mapped for these events
- chief vetter Ralph Tolbert, who helped to make sure the controls were where the course setters thought they placed them
- registrar Sandy Fillebrown, who juggled requests for start times among many other tasks
- e-punch and results guru Valerie Meyer, who keeps amazing us with what she's able to fit into her van
- Ron Bortz, who also amazes with the logistical support he provides (posts, tents, generators, tables, chairs, and the list goes on) and Ali, who, like Andrea, got drafted
- relay team coordinator Hugh MacMullan III
- start-team folks: Bob Meyer, Ed Scott, Ed Nieman, Ron Wood, Bob Gross and anyone I missed here
- the food guys, Steve O and Scott Thatcher
- Sharon Siegler and Steve Aronson, who handled rec-course registration on Sunday and also provided some delicious awards
- others who helped in various roles (and I apologize in advance if I missed anyone): Fred Kruesi, map production; Vadim Masalkov, Greg Balter John Gilette, Ralph Churchill, Lynn Aldritch, Petr Hartman, John Campbell, Kathy and Dave Urban, Robert Hesketh, Samuel Kolins, Carl Marcus
- and to the weather gods, for contributing two good, clear days for the participants!

Reply by j-man on Mon Apr 28, 2014 at 8:23 amI'd also like to single out Karl and Sandy for a stellar TempO. It was a challenging, but fair. With luck, Karl will agree to set another TrailO when we return to White Clay Creek this fall. If you haven't tried TrailO yet, there is no better introduction.DVOA will probably be holding the US TrailO Championships next year during our next A event, so this would be a great time to refine your skills. Also, special thanks to John Campbell who was the relay event coordinator. That is a huge job (which most have never heard of.) John took ownership of this event and helped to make it super.

Reply by johncampbell on Tue Apr 29, 2014 at 7:15 amAnother example of why DVOA is such a tremendous club. It takes great teamwork to make these events successful and we have a fantastic group of committed members. Great job to everyone. I'd like to make a special thanks to Ron Bortz. The equipment, map boards etc he has made for us all we take for granted, but making them was no small task. Watching Ron and Ali on Saturday am empty their truck of equipment, map boards, tables etc, was like watching a magician pulling tricks out a hat. - it never seemed to end. Ron and Ali - thank-you.

Reply by anniemac on Wed Apr 30, 2014 at 6:57 amWow! What a fantastic weekend. My first A-Meet Relay--I had so much fun with my teammates Dasha and Margaret B. But -- I never got my map back, and forgot to ask the next day. Is there an AA map laying around (2nd leg of 9 pt team) that I could pick up at the next event, or pay for postage for? Thanks to all of our wonderful DVOA members who worked so hard to put this event on; I am (even more) proud to be DVOA.

Can someone reply to a question from Janet Tryson on Attackpoint:
For record-keeping purposes, would someone please confirm who the Intercollegiate champions were? Though not specified in the results list, I figure McKenzie Hudgins and Zach Schroeder for the Individual IC Champions, and USMAOC Varisty 1 for the Team. Were there any Club Intercollegiate teams (besides West Point)?
