What a great day at Pakim Pond.  Friendly people, nice weather, and great courses.  Lots of new people, and  stopping along the way to point out directions was a nice way to remember Caroline Ringo.  She always stopped to help me, even when she was on the clock.

I also find,  teaming up with other lost people is a good way to make new friends in the club.    Thanks for a great day.

I passed Pat as she was helping some folks along the trail, being patient and helpful. It was a wonderful day to be out, and the brown courses was great, except I messed up on #10. Thanks Bob and crew for a wonderful day.

Results and RouteGadget are up. New RG map, too. Get your route posted!

I forgot my watch, so would need to do my route the old fashioned way, but I have no recollection of a good bit of the course, running in a red haze. :) Just kidding.

Super fun course, and this is the EXACT time of year for that park. I wish I could just take a NC instead of the cruddy points I got for wasting 10 minutes on #6 ... but I always say I don't care about the points, so I suppose I should live by those words.

And not a tick on me!

Yes! Wonderful weather, a welcoming crew, lots of new visitors (my younger sister with her daughter and son and their families came to see what my passion for O is all about!!! great fun!), kids running around gathering up plastic easter eggs, bought and filled by the Burtons (thanks Pat and Bob), and dozens of veterans navigating the subtle terrain through blueberry and huckleberry, along roller coaster trails from motor cross competitions at Pakim ...it was all very good.  Thank you all who came out and shared the great weather.  I swam at Pakim Pond several times a summer when I was just a kid (several lifetimes ago), and I just had to revisit the scene of my first event director/course setter crime about a decade ago.

Dan Barker was a great partner (Co-ED actually) managing our NJ kit, hanging half the controls on Friday, helping set up the Reg area, then welcoming all comers at Start during the event.  Thank you so much, Dan.  Early arriver Bob Rycharski helped with set-up before going out on his course.  In addition to the easter eggs, Pat and Bob handled Registration all day in shifts (Pat also offering guidance to lots of newbies while out on her course). Vadim handled e-system set-up, then ran the system until Sandy Fillebrown and Kathy Urban took over after running their courses.  Besides closing down the computer and gathering up the kit for our A Event at the end of the day, Sandy also graciously dusted off her printer to print the course maps for us.  In addition to end of day computer help, Kathy supervised making sure the e-system was retrieved intact, while Dave was out doing pick-up.  The Burtons, Dan, and Sandy, also helped with pick-up, with Gala Rokhinson and Pasha Temkin very graciously taking time from their family picnic to help with some of the last controls out in the woods.  Thank you all very much for your invaluable support in making the day so enjoyable for everyone.

Bob, thanks so much to you, Dan, and the crew. It was a wonderful day. I loved the course. I'm really sorry I had to get out of there so early, but I had to get down to Fair Hill pronto, and I was late anyway.

But, I would have loved nothing more than to have hung out longer--it was such a nice location and a nice day.

Thanks for the recognition of the Ringos. That was very fitting.

Bob Burgs Pakin Pond O courses were "Sweevil", both

as MY many Psych Cable TV  show watchers know, is a compliment first:

meaning the courses were both Sweet and "Evil"!  Sweet, as its a good way to get outdoors, but evil for those (like me) who get somewhat fooled (bewildered?) by the maze of Pakin Ponds many bland flat trails (most look all alike 3 others on the map)/  I tip my sweaty runners hat to our Bob Burg, a DVOA expert course setter, a diamOnd in the rOugh O terrain
