A Radnor scout troop wants me to run a training event on Saturday, 26 April, to prepare them for the MASOC.  I will be out of the country all of April.  In the past they have first done a yellow/orange level course in groups of two or three and then a score-o.  I can supply the maps and equipment.  Their leaders have provided the crew for start/finish, etc..  Basically you need to put out the controls (they will help collect them) and provide basic orienteering training.

    Anyone interested in helping them?

Note that Saturday April 26th is the date of the A event.  Is it possible that a different day would work for them?

Do you think they would be interested in attending an already scheduled DVOA event instead?  Someone could provide instruction there...

Hi Tim and Eric, I would take this on but its too far for me to Travel the week (26 April)  before MASOC.  I would offer and be available 2 meet with the Scouts half way ... at the existing DVOA April 19 Pakin Pond /Lebanon State Park local NJ event (remind them that NJ State Park campsites are available, as an incentive) and I might Assist Senior Trainer extrodinaire Bob Burg in training them up a bit before Masoc.
In this way, they get a real DVOA Local O meet with additional personal training from both DVOA experts helping at that O meet, or if they are maybe busy at other meet duties, maybe I can step in a bit as a dedicated trainer (PS Bob Burg, I am 99% sure I will attend the "Takin the  Bacon at Pakin" O meet and will gladly help out as a volunteer) .
If they are REALLY O serious ( Sirius like Black? ), after MASOC, they can (spoiler here) come to the Triple Crown of Scout orienteering this Spring; 1. A DVOA March or April (local O meet), Then if they are Free, Attend the May MASOC (#2) and then look over a O schedule to attend the climax, event #3,  the June 8th Quail Hill BSA Camp -  Scout O event, Manalapan NJ, which I am organizing (ED) and the Invitational  leader Packet has just been submitted to   www.scoutorienteering.com webmaster .  < word doc not there yet, should be posted soon ...>

Please send me offline Radnor PA Scout leader info/emails /phone contact info ... if no one else steps forward...
