Kathy Urban tracks orienteering through Google Alerts. (Good idea! Does anyone else do that?)
She recently shared an articles about orienteering that might be a good resource when you want to explain the sport to non-orienteering friends.

I love Google Alerts for orienteering.  You see all these articles from the UK where they don't have to explain what orienteering is.  Google Alerts is how the Courier article that called orienteering a "sport" got such wide circulation and everyone freaked out.  It was wonderful.
