    Happy New Year, everyone!

I am sad to report that the almost-completed, 24-page Winter Issue of our quarterly newsletter was swallowed by microsoft word - all text was somehow automatically erased out of every single text box I had created (but all layout and photos remain.)

I have researched the issue and done my best to fix it, consulting with both my brother the IT expert as well as the "geniuses" at the Apple store, (who are not such geniuses IMO,) and it seems there is nothing to be done.  It is a "glitch" that cannot be explained, according to Apple.  Unfortunately, because I did not back up the document as I should have, I will have to reconstruct it from the beginning.  I will also keep trying to contact microsoft word support.

Please bear with me as I gather the motivation to start over.  I still have all the articles that everyone submitted (thank you!!) but there were a few that I wrote directly into the document that I'll have to rewrite from scratch, and there is all the formatting and editing to be done as well.

I really apologize to the DVOA membership for the lateness of the issue.  Thank you so much for your patience.

Here's to 2014, and all the great O we will experience!

    Ann

no problem, we can wait!  wish I could help, but my apple expertise is limited to turning on my iPad.  Take a deep breath....
if you want to try, email the entire thing to me to give it a shot on a PC, if you haven't tried that already.

That is so sad--I'm so sorry that happened to you. Argh!

Don't worry about us--we are happy just with the anticipation of the wonderful Briar Patch. Thanks for everything!

Did you know T.E. Lawrence left the manuscript for the Seven Pillars of Wisdom in a cafe, and Faulkner left a manuscript on a train and Hemingway's wife lost a manuscript also when she left her case unattended?  Works of genius seem to go missing quite frequently.
