Dear All,

Thank you to all who came out to the Ridley FoxTrot and Ridley Orienteering Riddle today, and to the amazing Ridley Volunteer Crew whose enthusiasm, vision, and help made this event possible. The weather gods were on our side, Ridley FoxTrot course-setting was impeccable, and the Riddle was tricky and fun.

A few statistics: we had 231 participants using 156 maps on the FoxTrot courses, and 33 participants using 27 maps on the Riddle Courses. There were 26 new memberships or membership renewals, and 10 people signed up to direct a meet or course-set in the Adopt-A-Meet campaign. The Ridley Raffle winners were Bob Agosta, Ron Bortz, and Petr Hartman. The award ceremony featured custom-designed Ridley FoxTrot and Ridley Riddle medals by Bob Gross.

It takes a village to put on a big event, and we are so thankful for the wonderful DVOA folks who always lend a hand with a smile. We would like to offer a special thanks to the Ridley Volunteer Crew (“The Rousing Ridley Rangers”) without whom this event would not be possible, as well as to many other folks who stepped up on the day of the event to help wherever it was needed.

Thanks for such a fantastic event at Ridley. Huge props to Mac for setting outstanding courses in what is not the nicest park in our inventory. The little green I had to negotiate was harmless by Ridley standards. And I agree with Tom's point on AP about the flag placement! It's such a joy to have to find the feature first, and then find the flag confirming the feature exactly where it's supposed to be.
