Topic created by Orienteeringmom on Mon Mar 18, 2013 at 9:27 pmI want to thank everyone that made Hibernia a great start to the DVOA 2013 Spring season. It really was a team effort. Scott took care of all of the courses and the hanging of the controls while I organized the meet help. Sandy Fillebrown kick the morning off with the epunching and Sandy Alhswede spotted Sandy so she could get out on her course and so the Kathy Urban could get cleaned up from her course and closeout the epunching for the day. Mary Frank, John Gillette and myself handled registeration and John took care of a number of sessions of instructions for scouts and few families. Contol pickup was done by a number of people so that it wouldn't take long to do. Dan and Zack Barker, Mike Carter, Tim Walsh, Chase Thatcher, Ron Barron and Bob Meyers who also took a DVOA junior and his father out to give some advice on Orange and above level contorls while picking up. I also think John G. did some control pickup as well. Also Bob Agosta and Steve O took care of start so that beginner and newbies got off on their courses sucessfully.
Kathy Urban get the credit for the Green Dress idea which was really fun. I know that there are a number of pictures flowing out there that I have seen posted already to the DVOA FB page and I hope that they will get posted to the DVOA webpage as well if they are not already. I have a few that I will do my best to post in the next day or so.
As an added note I want to let everyone know that a family of 4 that talked to our volunteers at the Sport Endurance EXpo came yesterday and had a great time and plan to join the club!!!
Again thanks for everyone that helped!
