Reply by Vadim on Sat Jan 19, 2013 at 6:20 pmThere will be no limit, however, 2 hour later after mass start I plan to close courses and start controls pick up. So, you have full 2 hours to complete advanced course.

If I come down to do advanced course..... and help clean controls.... will the last advanced ......say red or blue controls still be out there at say 1:30 ????
When cleaning is that taken into account?
course is listed at > 5 km so I would think even getting blue course in the 2hrs would be doable especially if have to run to stay warm no?????
What does Presidents Cup mean?
Is it a special format of race aside from the mass start?
How much snow is there on the ground down there ???? Are those slip on yak traks needed? -
Reply by Sandy on Tue Jan 22, 2013 at 2:18 pmThere's barely a dusting here at the moment (I live just a mile or so from SCEE) - not sure how much more we'll get in the next few days.
The President's Cup just means that the President of the club sets the course and that it is not standard courses - there is always some twist. See the post linked from the front page of DVOA to see the details of what Vadim planned for this year but the main idea is that there is a memory O section in the middle of the course.

Reply by furlong47 on Tue Jan 22, 2013 at 5:17 pmThe course is under 5K, it's a fast venue IMO (big trail network), and you'll almost always be faster in a mass start event since there's a huge pack at least for the first several controls.
