Quail Hill NJ O event Nov 11 needs a meet director asap

Topic created by BRycharski on Fri Aug 3, 2012 at 2:04 pmJust wondering if there is anyone available to be a DVOA meet director (I can help train you or be Co-ED) for Quail Hill Scout camp in the Fall 2012 - Manalapan, NJ. Also know that the original date of Nov 11 I have been 'denied 'a Quail Hill meet permit, so maybe if we can induce a meet director asap DVOA would entertain moving this to either tentatively Nov 18 (camp available, yes I know its the HVO turn for a fall dual HVO-DVOA O meet... maybe thats movable) or Dec 2 (fall back date). If not, i was told this O meet , after many years, may be shortly dropped to open the date to other venues. Let me know or contact Ed Scott for schedule details

Reply by edscott on Sun Aug 5, 2012 at 5:42 pmOur first choice will be to keep the Nov 11 date to avoid imposing a schedule change on HVO. Since the major useage conflict will be essentially gone by 11AM, hopefully we can go with an 11AM to 1PM start window on November 11.

Reply by BRycharski on Mon Aug 6, 2012 at 5:02 pmHello all DVOA O hikers - OK, News, Quail Hill has now agreed that Sunday Nov 11 is now OK with them for a afternoon of DVOA orienteering, I seek a course setter volunteer; please contact me if interested. Easy park (sic camp) to learn course setting. Nov is far away, but with the A meet coming up in October, I would like very lined-up DUCKS!
As previous stated, I seek another Event co-Director. You can have first choice of day of event ED ship tasks, or registrar (we split the duty). Registration is only for the Scouts and TBD large school groups that sometimes bring 100 plus runners (like Rancocas and MAST Hi Schools and repeat BSA troops i.e. )
PLease contact me by Mid to late Sept for Co-ED duties (sooner for CS) CS needed for Epunch use confirmation ...
Benefit, we hold this O meet on Nov 11, it tends to be locally popular in Mid NJ and is a fun place to teach O to juniors to O
That, and Bring a rain insurance tarp and I will supply the worker bee cookies and snacks
Thanks for reading this, please cut and paste to via email anyone wanting to be a course setter volunteer.
