2 Street Orienteering events are being organized in the DVOA area in the next 3 weeks, neither of which are hosted by DVOA.  See:

I would love to try some things like these, but they all seem to require smart phones. I'm not interested enough to take on a $100+ monthly phone bill in order to do it.

Julie, you'd be great at this, and I think you just need a partner with a smart phone.
