After twelve years as DVOA's webmaster, it's time for me to move on. Starting Tuesday, Vadim Masalkov will be taking over the reins as DVOA's webmaster.

Personally, it's been very rewarding to build DVOA's website to the point where it has become the primary communications and marketing tool driving so many of DVOA's activities. I'd like to thank everyone in DVOA for their support and willingness to accept the many changes and additions made over the years. It was always fun to add some new feature to the site with little or no fanfare and then watch as it became used and accepted as a normal part of the site. I'm going to continue doing the results and rankings for a while, but will be passing that job on to someone else, probably within another year or two.

A few years ago, I made a decision to cut back the number of websites I was running, but that has been a harder process than anticipated. Recently the town we live in wanted to revamp it's website, so I'm now the webmaster for Elmore. I'll still be running the o-signup registration site, and I'll be doing the NAOC2012 website. When not working on websites, I've been doing a lot of photography. If you're interested, check out my gallery.

In many ways it's hard to give up the website, but I rest easy knowing it's in good hands. I'm sure I speak for all when I say, “Welcome Vadim!”

So happy to see your posting, Kent, as I've been wondering how you and Jean made out during the storm.

Thanks again for all the fantastic work you've done with this site.  It made my life so much easier when I was doing publicity for the club.  I knew if I could just point people to the site, every bit of informaton they could need about orienteering or the club, including those all-important last-minute changes to events, was right there in a user-friendly format.

Best of luck with all your endeavors!

Oh, Kent, your photos are wonderful.  I'm going to sit down after work tonight when I can take some time and enjoy them.
