Happy Summer hiking, DVOA members! This is a opportunity for a DVOA volunteer or 2 to step Up for the Sept 25th Rutgers Preserve Local O meet.

Rutgers map is located on the Livingston campus of New Brunswick, NJ, and the Nature Preserve's - woods, are accessed from an Avenue "E" parking lot [#101] or the Johnstone County park lower parking lots.  Woods are a sloping hillside with mild rolling hillside features but with 2 streams and associated gullies and a quite good trail network.  Vegetation varies from medium thicket (which we avoid set out of O flags -in, mostly) to open woods with much in between veg. boundary features, dirt banks and  ocassional root stocks.

Due to busy schedules, a CS is lacking as of now.   If an experienced - O Course setter is available, please contact me Asap. If you are desiring to "learn course setting", mentors are available on this easy to understand map (30% (N-east side)updated in 2010).  If a CS volunteer is not available by late August, THis meet may be de-listed until next year, which would be a shame for this event attracts Red runners and beginner Yellow hikers galore (event is worth the CS effort).  For more info or to see old 2008 era maps/courses/ contact me via email.
