The recently emailed club newsletter (April 11) struck me as noteworthy.
Among the many worthwhile items, two things impressed me.
One was Clem's insightful report and graphics from the recent US Champs.
The other was the general quality of the photography, which featured action photos, as opposed to standing around shots, which tops what I recently viewed from one of our rival clubs.
I think this publication is worthy of distribution to non-orienteers, even though that might not be the prime objective.
    Congratulations to all involved.

    Eric,

Newsletter editor here, confessing that I should have credited the QOC photographers who were relentlessly pursuing action shots at the US Champs, Nadim Ahmed and Jeannette Dunlap. I found the action photos really inspiring, personally.

I was also really happy to have Clem McGrath return to writing leg analysis, which we did a few times back when the "Briar Patch" newsletter was still a printed publication.

There have been many iterations of a DVOA newsletter over the years, as you know - and we're just getting it back up and running! I'm thankful for the volunteers who submit content ideas/articles, photos, and help proofread the issues (The Rileys, Sandy F, Clem, Janet T and more - help is always welcome!)

If you're ever interested in submitting an article, or have any suggestions for content you'd like to see, please let me know! We are hoping to have them come out on a monthly basis.

    Best,

    Ann MacMullan

In a recent OUSA newsletter someone, I don't remember their name, but could go back, produced a gopro style video of their course whiie explaining their route decisions as they progressed. Personnaly I thought this really interesting and that many orienteers would find this helpful. Also, something like this should be utilized much more to potentially capture more interest from the public and bring them out to give it a try. Sure would like to see if we can get someone interested to give this a try in DVOA to post on the DVOA newsletter.

Is there a place on our website that the newsletters are posted, so we can refer to them later?

    Or links?

Ed, there are links right on the home page (right hand column under "Welcome to Orienteering") -- one is to sign up for the newsletter, and the other is a link to the monthly archive.
